The FlexGEM software solution is the link for successfully integrating a system into an SECS based factory system.

The scalable client-server architecture enables easy and fast implementation of a SEMI-compliant interface full SECS, GEM and PV2 functionality.

Its heartpiece is the FlexGEM server. It communicates on the one hand with the MES / host system and, on the other hand, with the GEMClient instances integrated into the control software of the equipment.

Using the innovative, micro services based aKit solution, you can control individual machines, inline or cluster tools. SEMI automation standards are fully integrated. Common hardware components are supported out of the box and require no programming. Handling sequences are editable. FABSpecs – HOST SIMULATION AND TESTING TOOL

For simulating and testing the communication between a factory host or MES system and a production tool.

Ensure the compliance of your host interface implementation with the SEMI standards:

  • HSMS via TCP / IP or SECS-I via RS 232 (Windows only.)
  • The communication protocol SECS-II
  • Scenarios for GEM, PV2, 300mm functionality.

Test specific automation sequences from the host or MES specifications of the fab:

  • Single function tests
  • Manual step-by-step function tests
  • Automated test sequences of all functions.

Hardware and software environment of FABSpecs

No special hardware is required to use FABSpecs. All connections use the TCP / IP standard protocol to transfer the data when using HSMS. For SECS-I communications you must have a serial port and be using the software on Microsft Windows. FABSpecs is written in Java and only requires that a Java Runtime Environment (JRE least 2) is installed. This makes FABSpecs platform-independent and runs on Microsoft Windows, GNU Linux and other operating systems.

FABSpecs uses Jython as a scripting engine for complex custom scripts. Java as a runtime environment and Python as a scripting language are an effective combination and make FABSpecs open to new questions and solutions to problems.

The FABSpecs host simulation environment is and remains free.
